Buzzing when starting,

Hi Guys

I have an Australian 1998 W202 C200 Espirit.

Its a really nice car and I really enjoy it.

Lately I have been starting the car and above the mirror, near where the light switches are, there is this constant buzzzing noise, coming out of the grille. I can't quite pick it. Sometimes it stays for a while, sometimes I turn off the car, restart it, it quickly goes away.

Its definitely something spinning , because when I turn off the car, it slowly slows down and dies away.

Any ideas what this is?

Also, this has happened twice, but when I start the car, the red and green light on the mirror flashes alternately. does this mean I have a problem with my immobiliser?

Thanks
Teds

Don't know about the lights flashing, but the buzzing noise you hear near the overhead light is the fan which draws air over the sensor for the interior climate control, run the hoover over the grills next time you are cleaning the car as dust can build up inside and affect the proper function.
Cheers, Geo.

Thanks mate!

I gave it a good vaccum and its all good now.

I really like the car and its dead silent on the highway compared to my other vehicles so yea the buzz really got to me

Another annoying problem though is sometimes my indicator lights dont flash, they just turn on and stay on, until after I made the turn, happens very randomly.

Faulty flasher relay, it's included in the combination relay which you will find in the relay compartment at the back of the main fuse box in the engine compartment, 6 philips head screws to undo to release cover.
Cover is 23 and relay is 119 in this diagram.http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...045&SGN=03;You should hear the relay click when you wiper or hazard lights are operating, if not remove it and clean the pins and as a last resort open it up and spray some contact cleaner on the internals, allow to dry out then try again.
Hope this works. Geo.
