Spark
Occassionaly my '96 C220 misfires on the second cylinder.I've had a look and you can see the spark jump from the cable to the mounting bracket of the coil.I have tried another set of plug leads but it still does it.I all the cables between the coils and it still does it which kind of seems to rule out the coil.At idle its every now and then but if I put it in gear it more often.Anybody have any ideas why it does this?
Not getting much response to this are you, try posting here , there are some good techs on this forum.http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/.

Nope, doesnt seem like it.I'll try the link.Strange thing is if the car is cold its fine, as soon as it warms up it starts this crap.I thought maybe the coil pack has a crack and tried insulating it and it seems to have helped a bit so maybe it is the coil.Whatever it is its driving me mad.The day it started this it was raining heavily and the roads were abit flooded, drove to the shops fine and when I started it again this crap started and its been since december.

Yup, called the secondhand spares shop I got the plugleads from, R350 ($50) and he's going to have them tested first.
