Help removing wood trim

Help removing wood trim

I need to replace one of the switches above my radio but I can't figure out how to remove the wood trim. Help!

'96 C220
You should notice two small screws at the bottom of the wood panel. Remove them and it should pull down and out without a hitch.

I have removed the screws but the panel did not come out easily. I will try pushing down before out. Thanks.

You must remove the radio first. There are two screws behind the radio. After removing that (and the 2 screws as described above) the panel will come out.

To remove the radio, you can use the radio removal keys (available at some car audio stores or you can get some at www.autotoys.com), or you can use a flat metal object like a pocketknife blade...i used the file from a swiss army knife, and it worked pretty well.
