Finally got my C36!
Hi all.
At Lst! Finally, after years of searching I located and bought a 95 C36. Oh Joy!! This baby only has 17,000 kms and is so fast that it is hard to believe that this is a staid and respectable Benz.
This is my second Benz after a succesion of BMW's. I must say that the Benzes feels more refined and 'classy'...
I noticed that there is some vibration when the engine is idling with the tranny is Drive. Is this normal?

Vibration
Thanks.
I already had both motor mounts replaced. This vibration is not so severe though. It manifests itself only when idling in 'D' at around 500 RPM. Once the RPM is increased to 600 by shifting to 'N' or 'P' it goes away. I already had it tuned, oil, plugs and filters replaced, etc.
My car was imported direct from Germany. The motor sticker says 206 KW (276 HP) and 385 Nm-M. I thought the '95 only had 268 HP?
Would it be ok to post a picture of the car here?

European hp #'s translates differently in US
Congrats on your new AMG.. they are great. I just picked up my C32 and it is rated at 349 hp here but in Euro it is rated at 354 hp. Whichever you have, is plenty of power. Enjoy your new toy... just in time for xmas.

Pics
Gentlemen, Thanks for all the positive comments on the C36. I post these pics with pleasure. (Been waiting to be invited to post pics he-he)
P.S. My wife is jealous of the car. She says I spend more time grooming it than with her. I think it is no contest though... C36!
The local street racers are incredulous when they get blown away by this innocuous and regal Benz, Wheee!
Best Regards,

nice car you got there Bong,
so congratulations
BTW I notice from the rear AMG badge (i piece AMG letter) and the chrome AMG letter on the spark-plug plastic cover..
So yeah your car is definitely a 95 or 96.(97 has the black AMG letter on the spark-plug pastic cover, and the AMG lettering on the trunk lid is an individual a,m,&g letter )
But here in US 95 and 96 only has 268 hp (approx 200 kw)/280lb-ft. and the 97 cars has 276hp/284lb-ft ..
also another thing to tell which year of C36 and which motor it has is...
95 and 95 has 4 speed auto, same shape of steering wheel,
the 95 has the small A/C controller, the 96 has the wider (with wide screen) for the A/C controller.
The 97 has the 5 speed auto, has the newer A/C controller which is the same as the 96, and has different shape of steering wheel than 95&96....
Here is the website with the info that you might be interested as for the spec and performance for 95,96, 97 C36..
Mercedes Benz Model Guide
Note: the unit measure hp in Germany and US is a bit different (for example on my 97 C36 according to Germany brochure it has 280 hp and according to us it has 276hp)
I guess unless they might have swap it with the newer engine..(which I really doubt that)....
Regarding the vibration, I don't feel that at all on mine..
PS: Do you have any pic of the interior

I think 500 rpm might be a little low for idle. I know on my 94 Honda Accord its gets rough when idling below 700 rpm and it was fine after getting the idle adjusted. My guess would be its vibrating because its on the edge of cutting out at 500 rpm. Just a guess, however. BTW, that is an exquisite car!
