Hello, this is my 1st post so be gentle on me
I tried searching but didn't find exactly what I needed. I just bought a 99 c230k that I want to take to the track this spring. My best friend has a 2000 honda civic si that has run a best of 13.9. I want to race him and beat him when the tracks open up. The look on his face will be priceless
. I need sopme help on what I can do to get this car into the 13's.
Thanks
Dave

The only 1/4 mile time I have ever seen quoted on the '99 C230K is 15.7 by Car and Driver, so you are going to have a lot of time to make up! That time is probably not using any special tactics to make the most out of the car's engine characteristics though. A technique to do starts where the supercharger has already kicked in before the timing lights signal to go will probably help a bit. You can also do the supercharger pulley upgrade (also requires fuel delivery upgrade and different plugs), quality ECU chip remapping, maybe a custom lighter flywheel and the MAF relocation procedure. These cars are relatively heavy, so overall car weight reduction should help, too. Then you get into better exhaust systems and more in-depth engine mods. Visit www.club202.com and look in the mods and upgrades sections.
Kleeman used to make a supercharger pulley upgrade kit but have discontinued it. ASP now make one: http://www.aspracing.com/frame.htm

The most "cost-effective" method would probably be a nitrous kit. Doug's post was very detailed and informitive. To add, some slicks in the rear would optimize the launch.

I can only think of Nitrous unless you really want to do serious mods... or find a C43.
