help c180 idle problem?

hi there wondering if anyone could help me i have a c180 on a 95 m had it for a little while it is a manual and ever since i have had it i it has driven like crap i have changed the oil witch made it run alot better as the oil filter cap was
so tight i had to buy a special tool to remove it and it came out like a lump of charcoal so i dont think anyone had ever done that also i found a small hole in the air intake so i hunted around the engine and found a small sensor that clips onto it. the car drives lovely now but it idles at 700 and when you pull away it bogs down slightly and can be jumpy in traffic on choke 1000 idle it doesnt seem to do this and seems to run like it should can anyone suggest what it could be thanx very much jimmy

Try changing the plugs and leads after which you can give it the 'Italian tune-up' If you get my drift!
