I was out on the web today and couldn't find the perf. data on my 1999 C280 Sport
Can any of you help me out?

i dont know about 1/4 mile but 0-60 should be 8 seconds according to mbusa. 0.1 second quicker than C230K. But I have seen publications claiming as low as 7 seconds for 0-60mile. I dont know how realistic 7 second is but we all know MBUSA is conservative on performance numbers, so it should be lower than 8 seconds.

it is also strange that the same model year(the same tranny, the same finlal gear ratio, the same engine management, 400cc larger displacement) E 320 with 20hp stronger but 400 lbs heavier chassis makes the 0-60 in 7.1 seconds according to mbusa. but one should also consider that e class has a better coeffient of drag.

i wonder what kind of results one would get if you put 3.2L V6 from a 2000 or older model E320 into a 97-00 C280. They basically have the same tranny, same engine management, same final drive ratio. It should not be a hard job to swap the engines. I am sure both engines are identical in size as well(maybe not in weight). accourding to MBUSA, 3.2L engine makes 20-25hp and 35ft/lbs more and has a better highway mpg. 28 vs.30mpg.
