replace timing chain?

replace timing chain?
i was told that a rattling noise that i am hearing is my timing chain and that i need a new chain tensioner and guides. is this something i can do myself or a mechanic only job?

Make sure thats what it is...
If you have the tools and time on your hands you can do it yourself.
I would definitely consider having a shop do that due to yanking the top of the engine apart. How many miles is on the engine?
Any time you got to mess with oil it gets really messy, if there is a local shop that will do it for a good price go for it.
