I don't know if this is works for 2000 C230 but this is how i did it on my 97 C280

Take off the Intake piping, there is 3 screws you will have to take off near the engine and unclip the MAF from the air box. There is also a tightener you will need to loosen to take off the piping. Once you take that off, you will need some hex tools to take off the cover. Once you take that off you you will see the coil packs. My C280 had 3 coil packs, 2 spark plugs under each. You wiull need 5/8" socket to take out the plugs with at least 6" long to reach the plugs. There is an order you should take/install spark plugs. My was 1 - 6 , 2 - 5, 3 -4 and each of them need at least 15-20LB of Torque?( forgot much you needed ) You can add some anti-seize paste so that next time you take out spark plugs it is easier. Once your done put everything back together and start the car and let it idle for 5-10min to burn off excess paste.

And your done! However, this is how i did it for my C280, not sure about a C230.. Check how many plugs you need to....

Take off the red Kompressor cover plate. You will see the two coils. Unbolt the coils, remove them and the plug wires like described above. There are only 4 plugs. Don't get fancy with the plugs on a Kompressor engine. Use the factory recommended plugs. Plugs need 20 lb ft of torque according to Haynes. You will find some debate in regard to whether to use anti-sieze compound.
