You need to take care of any mechanical and maintenance issues first. After that, you should look into lowering the car a bit. I am saying this a person who normally doesn't like the "slammed" look. In general, I am not a fan of lowering cars but those 19" wheels are making your car look like it is ready to take on a Range Rover You just need to drop it a couple of inches so that the gap between the top of the wheel and the top of the wheel arch is a bit less.

CLK, R350
will look nice but...

I would do these in this order assuming you have no service records on the car.
1.oil change
2.tranny flush
3.air filter
4.fuel filter
5.inspect/replace spark plug wires and plugs
6.lower car with new springs and shocks
7.alignment
Pls perform maintenance before any cosmetic upgrades are done

In order of importance....

1. handle all maintenance first!

nothing worse than owning a benz on the side of the road.....lol

2. drop it...you got 19's so you can't drop it much...it will rub.

3. refurb the wheels

4. paint it

5. pack it fulla honies and increase your panty collection by about 200%

good luck and remember...nothing rides quite like a Benz...

Search for a reputable Benz mechanic whose not a shark, loves Benz's and who won't overcharge you on labor, Benz's are not hard to work on if you know what you're doing. the best Benz mechanics tend to be old guys with gray hair with the knowledge of Yoda.

NO DEALERSHIPS!!! Dealerships will drain your wallet in no time and their mechanics are not always ASE certified. most are just young punks who wanna be gearheads.

Go to Autozone and have them run a diagnostic check on your system. they'll plug you into a reader(free) and find out what's wrong with it, if anything. hopefully you get a clean bill of health on your Benz and can jump right into customization.

Hope this helps.
