95 C280 SRS light continuously on
I have developed a problem with the SRS light on my '95 C280. A few months ago, I was in an accident where I hit someone with the right front of my car. The SRS light was not on when I drove to the body shop to get the car fixed. When I picked the car up, the SRS light was on continuously. The shop had a specialist look at it and they said they were not able to communicate with the SRS module. I subsequently took it to my mechanic (not an MB dealer), their specialist said the same thing (e.g. they couldn't communicate with the module) and that I would need to take it to the dealer.
I have seen many posts here about SRS light problems, seat belt connectors, lose connections etc. I wanted to check the connections to the SRS module itself but don't know where it is. Also, what is the likelihood of the SRS module going bad and what is the typical cost for replacement?
Also, for anyone in the Northern Virginia area, what dealer would you recommend? I have tried HBL/Tysons and won't go back there.
Thanks for any help,
Dean

HBL sucks. American Service center isn't much better and they also own Alexandria MB.
In terms of engine scanners, few can do what the MB star diagnostics system can do to reset SRS.
The SRS can be triggered fairly easily when the batter is not disconnected during certain repairs. So nothing may be broken. If you think everything is really OK, I would look into one of these:

I have never used it but it looks intriguing. Less expense than a single scanning at most MB dealers.
