Hey Everyone

Been reading the forum for a few days now and I'm happily awaiting the arrival (Monday) of my new to me C280. Got lucky and picked up a 1998 with only 73K km's (about 48K miles) from a few snow birds (live in Canada in the summer and Florida in the winter) so the car has never seen snow and salt. She is in mint shape and has been dealer serviced throughout her life. Got it for a really low price, I guess I was just at the right place at the right time.

Just dropped in to say hi and I'm enjoying the read so far.

be prepared to spend a lot on repairs...and often. other than that it's a fun car to drive and own.

Gulp!!! Not the responce I was hoping for. What kind of repairs are we talking about???

i've got a '99 c200 with 100k kilometers and i have found the maintenance and repairs to be reasonable. i take the car in to the dealer every six months for an oil change and inspection and i'm usually out the door for less than $100. knock wood. i will admit that when you need a major service (e.g. brakes, transmission service, etc.) it will set you back a bit. but if you have any mechanical ability at all, you can do a brake service yourself and many other minor repairs like bulbs and things. i bring it in to the dealer for the oil change because it comes with the inspection.
