2000 w202 C280 Sport Black/Black price?
I have opportunity to buy a C280 sport with really low miles and the asking price is US$11,500 for a 2000 with Black and Black. The miles are under 40,000. What should I offer? I need to see the car and check the carfax and take it to my mechanic. What else should I be looking for? Can I offer 10K? It looks really clean in the photos.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

Sounds like a very nice car. Check the automatic climate control to make sure it is working correctly, as in the air goes where it should, etc. Any dealer can give you a complete breakdown of what is/isn't/may be needed.

I was thinking it should be under 10K like a 2001 W203 car should be too. But since it's low miles and local in SoCal and it's a dealer price I might go see it. If it's still available and checks out i might offer ten and a half grand with a loan. Plus I have my old W124 car to throw in for cheap, just to get out of it. Trans needs work again. The 124 car is a real dinosaur, it's not worth it with the high miles. I can afford a payment plan in my budget these days so I was thinking about this low miles 202 car. it's got sport pack and the right color combo. And the dealer asking is 11,500. Maybe they will let it go for 10,500 out the door. I know they are still making thousands. Thanks.

Besides the Sport Package, what other options are there? Does it have Bose and CD changer? Moonroof? Folding rear seats? Heated Front Seats? Xenons? Headlight washing system? Parktronic? Multi-Contour Front Seats?

Unterturkheim,
I think that here in the Los Angeles area the special edition W202 cars in 2000 came with most of the options. Moonroof is usually always there as is Bose and CD changer. I will look around for one with the folding rear seats as I like that option. The heated front seats are more in Canada and elsewhere in the States as opposed to down here in Southern California. Xenons and washer system would be great too.
I dont think I've ever seen one with parktronic though.
What may I ask are the Multi-Contour seats? Are they the 10 position seats as opposed to the 6 position ones or something?
THanks,
JAson

I was not aware that this was a Special Edition C280, the post only said Sport. The C2 value-added option package (comprised of Bose and Moonroof) was, if I recall correctly, included in the Special Edition, along with two-tone leather interior and the sport package. Xenon headlamps and/or washers were optional in the US, as were heated seats (a friend of mine recently bought a 2000 W203 from W.I. Simonson with heated seats) I think multi-contour seats (having several adjustable airbags within the seat to adjust the contour, and a control between the seat and the center console) were not available with the sport package, 10-way power seats were standard. CD changers were not standard equipment either.

When did your friend purchase a 2000 from Simonson? Is it black with black leather? I may have seen that car for sale. Simonson seems to ask way more than they should. I have seen them go down to almost half what their asking price was. A friend bought a 1999 E320 one owner for a great price from them a year and a half ago.
I have seen the air lumbar and side bolster seats in the C43 but never in a C280. Was it available from factory on the luxury editions? I think I do recall seeing it once in a lux model but must have thought little of it at the time. I think in the C43 the seats are also a more expensive build overall. Seemed like some really great seats actually. The control was in the spot between the inner side and center console. Looked like an amg control set-up to me on the C43.
Thanks for your information. I'm still looking for a good replacement to my temporary W124 car that's getting old and tired. Still looks great and still handles the way I like but needs trans swap/rebuild operation and a few odds and ends.
Options like Xenons and washers and folding seats and multi-contour seats are great to remember to look for. Thanks again.
Thanks

He bought it last year. Bordeaux red metallic with grey leather interior. Sport, C2 (Moonroof, Bose), CD changer, 60/40 folding rear seats, heated front seats, factory integrated cell phone.

1999 C280 Sport
I purchased a 1999 C280 Sport Blk/Blk with Bose/MoonRoof/Heated seats and CD from a woman in Mass. for a little over 4K. Car had 85k on the speedo. It needed a paint job....minor rust at the side mldgs. and a few little things. Car runs great. Had some small BB's to repair, but if you can research the problem you can get the answers here
