tranny problems?

its a 1994 c280 with a little over 140k

friday i took my plugs out. they checked out ok but my wires are bad. i put it all back together and headed out......everything was..... i went on a long trip aound 60 miles that night...... everything was fine.... Saturday i turned the car on and it ran terrible i think my tranny it going bad because in first gear it stugles to get above 2k rpms and when i have the pedal all the way down it takes a second to do anthting then it revs but doesnt give me as much power as it usually does. not to mention it shifts very roughly. i hope it is just my wires.

any ideas???
thanks-Brian

Try changing the fluid and filter in the transmission. 8 or 9 Quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic ATF and an OEM filter and pan gasket. Just remember to drain the torque converter too.

Although your problem does not seem to be transmission related, you should service it so that it does not have issues in the future.

+1 - also , when was the last time your filters - fuel & air - were changed ?

missing and low rpm's

Sounds to me like an air leak between the airflow meter and the throttle body. I had a similar problem.
Check the clamp and hose at the back side of the MAF , the clamps at the throttlebody. These can be overlooked easily, they needed to be loosend to get to the plugs and wires.
