Aftermarket HIDs....

Can someone tell me how to get rid of the lightbulb malfunction light on the dashboard after installing aftermarket HIDs on a C280? I know we have to put a resistor, but where to hook it up, where to put it and what should be the the voltage?

Many thanks!!

I've never heard of having to install a resistor because up a headlamp upgrade. What Brand/Model HIDs did you install?

Try going to the dealer and have them reprogram your car's computer...that's what I did when I installed my Bi-level Xenon's for my 2002 C320 (I'm assuming that you have a newer C280 and the computer recognizes that the bulb is out). On my 2001 SLK, I didn't have any warning lights come on when I installed an aftermarket HID kit. I hope I don't have the same problem when I install a kit on my 94 C280.

My dealer didn't charge me anything to have the computer reprogrammed. Though I did have to go back and deal with the service manager (the first service rep wanted to have my car for the day and charge at least one hour of labor). It should only take them 5-10 minutes to do, if they know what they're doing.

I concur with TP. I dont think the older models require you to program for xenons.
