Something weird is goin on...
My 1997 Mercedes C230 is having something weird go on with it. I am hoping someone has had a problem like this or knows something about what is happening with it. The car has been acting weird when it rains, sometimes it wont start*or when i turn the key it half way turns over and then the starter stops like i have stopped trying to start it. The other day when it was raining i tried to start the car and the tachometer went all the way to red line and stayed there for like 3 or 4 sec's when the car wasn't even Running! And also lately the transmission doesn't seem to be shifting as smoothly. In the morning when its cold i let it warm up for like 5 mins and then drive it, the first time it shifts i believe from 2nd to 3rd it shifts very hard, hard enough to really jolt you, i am worried that the transmission is about to go. when i have floored it when the car is all warmed up and been drove awhile it seems when it shifts when it is a WOT its shakey like if u know what i mean its not just one little shift its like jolt jolt jolt. the transmission has always been taken care of and flushed and filled every 40,000 miles. Oh and one more thing,are these cars suppose to ride smooth? i haven't had it long but i have the service records and it shows all the stuff that has been done, but it has 110,000 miles on it and i see the suspension has never been serviced. You can feel every bump in the road including little rocks that feel like huge ones. and bumps are very rough enough to rattle and jar things. is this common or does it suppose to have a smoother suspension than this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much, this is really worrying me.
