If battery dead, how can I open the trunk?

My 99 C280 has been sitting in the driveway for a few weeks, and now the battery is dead. The key fob won't unlock any of the doors, but I did manage to use one of the keys that slide out of the fob to unlock the door. This won't unlock the trunk however, so I can't get to the trunk mounted battery. The car doesn't have folding back seats, and even if it did, I don't think the 99 model had a manual trunk release inside the trunk.

When I get in and turn the key, the dash lights come on dimly, but apparently there isn't enough juice to open the trunk with the trunk release on the center console.

Only thing I can think of, short of towing it, is to run down to target and buy one of these: http://www.target.com/Black-Decker-B...e=1&rh=&page=1

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

My 1999 C280's trunk lid has a black round button mounted on the exterior, with a keyhole, that accepts the keyblade built into the remote.

open hood. Near the fusebox is a hot wire and if you have a charger or jumper cables you can charge the battery enough to open the trunk
