camfollower- shim dropped pls help

camfollower- shim dropped pls help
right i have a N-reg 2.3l kompressor W202 C230k but since i got it it has tapped so i decided to taker a look so i took off the rocker-top and have a look ot the cams ect... only to find these wrong with it:
1) the cam clamps where loose so tightened them up. ( quietend it a little bit )
2) one of the chims- camfollowers has dropped and there is a 4mm gap easy where as the rest have 1mm if that
what causes this? could the valve be slightly bent or could it be shted up with carbon so as not closing properly?? or coulod it just be a bad shim and needs replacing ??
i have put loads of redex into gas tank and also into piston chamber still hasnt fixed it tho.
any help would be mint thanx in advance macca
