4G-Tronic Transmission
Greetings Everyone
I'm the Newbie, I recently acquired a clean 1996 C220 with complete service records. Knowing this version is equipped with the hydraulic 4G-Tronic , I assume it has the vaccum modulator. I requested for an appointment to have the cars slightly rough shifting checked out, especially the vac. modulator, anyway they said there was probably nothing wrong with car, since it was just in for servicing a couple of months ago and to my surprise they said this C-class has a Transducer type modulator! Interesting anybody has any thoughts on this

I took the car in for servicing, had the brake fluid replaced (borderline boiling point after 3 years according to their record). Had the transmission service (Including appropriate test and new ATF, filter and pan gaskets). Broken hose at the modulator replaced). The car now shifts like new. Brakes have 70% left for front and rear pads, according to the shop that would be 7K to 10K miles. I'm still waiting for my Haynes from Amazon, it would arrive first week of April.
