The way the MB roadside assistance works here is that the roadside guy bills a dealer at MB who in turn bills you. The roadside assistance is NOT free, at least not in Toronto. I had a flat once and called roadside, they charged the dealer and since my car was basically brand new they covered it under a warranty.

Ya think the reason why the M Class and the new C Class is bad on realiability is because they are built in the US?

or

Is it because it's an offshoot of a Chrysler product?

The C class is built in Germany. All of the problems with both cars have been electrical. The U.S. isn't "making" the cars. The parts come from Germany and are put together hear. The M Class is the only Mercedes built here. I live less than 30 minutes away from the factory. It's incredible. By the way, Chrysler has had absolutely no affect on Mecedes cars yet. The new Chrysler Crossfire is built on a SLK320 chassis with the 3.2 liter V6 but believe you me, a Mercedes product will never carry a Chrysler part. Nothing is an offshoot for Mercedes. Our roadside assistance program is absolutely free here. The only charges are for parts if they are needed. Don't complain about having to pay for roadside assistance, YOU HAVE FREE HEALTHCARE!!!
