I looked at my car in front of it and searched the room mirror area. I didn't find anything looking like a sensor. What does it look like? Where is it?
My ride is 99 C230 K.

Is it big enough to catch eyes easily? Again I have seen the top part. I haven't found anything there, but just wanted to make sure before replacing the windshield.

Okay I just re-checked my windshield. There's nothing on the top center of the windshield behind the room mirror, so I would say I don't have rain sensor. Instead, I found a small sensor-looking thing on the room mirror (the opposite side of real mirror) when I looked at the car in front of it. I also found a similar thing on the room mirror when I sit on the driver seat and look at the mirror. Are these light sensors not rain sensor?
Please advise. Thanks.

I don't believe that we have them on our w202. I think they started putting rain sensor on 2001 and up...well at least on the E-Class (w210)

Thank you for your reply. I re-checked again, but yes as you say I think we don't. I just replaced my windshield.

some w202 models do. it is a small purple looking square that can be seen on the top center.

For the US models? Do you happen to know what year? I have a 2000 c280 non-sport and as far as I know I don't have it. Makes me what to go investigate now...

I believe it was an option. It's pretty easy to spot. I think it may come with the factory xenon that have the little wipers on the headlights. I would assume it was an option for model year 2000 since I have a 99. I'll have to take a pic one of these days.

For the '99 model year, it was part of the C1 option package that listed for $1,190.
