A connector in the center console box?

99 Mercedes C230K Sport

A connector in the center console box?

I have sort of a connector (looking like a high speed internet cable jack) with black wire going into somewhere in the car in my center console box. It's covered with plasticky cover.
What is this for? Have been trying to figure out, but I don't know.

The kit is expensive and really isn't worth the money. Keep a cell handy.

The system requires the use of an old analog phone. Since most all cell networks are now digital, after you finally got it all hooked up you would mots likely not even be able to get it to work.
