Trunk Console switch 1999 C230 Kompressor
I let someone borrow the car who is not so familiar with the MB. The trunk switch in the console was kind of forcibly pulled up that the switch snapped. I went to the repair shop and I was quoted more than $500 for parts and labor. The switches for the windows and the side mirrors still work except that the trunk switch snapped. Is it possible to just replace the trunk switch and not to buy the whole switch assembly? Thanks for anyone who can help!

The trunk switch is part of an assembly that includes the window switches. It is extremely simple to change. By the switch and do it yourself. Use a credit card or similar to pry up the black plastic surround on the gearshift. Then carefully lift up the entire trim panel. Once you have it popped loose you can see how the assembly attaches.

Prior to '98, the trunk switch was a separate piece, but the last few years, the trunk switch was molded along with the mirror adjustment and window switches. The rocker cover isn't sold separately, either.
