Post Problems With 97 C280 A/C

Hello,
I have a 1997 Mercedes C280 and I'm having some troubles with the A/C and climate control. When I put the temperature to "low" or 52 degrees which is the lowest temperature, warm air comes out. I have tried recharging the system with the proper refridgerant but still nothing changes. It's possible that the system is not even taking in the refridgerant but I'm not sure. The compressor also does turn when the air is enabled so I don't think that's the problem. Does anyone know what could be wrong or what I should do? Thank you.

if its not the freon it still can be ur a/c compressor the compressor are always on in those car even when its off it just run at a low % like at 2% to prevent the compressor from lockin up where in some cars they can be turned off for a long time then go to use and it locks up i would tried lookin first for any leaks can u a special dye and glasses or a light to pinpoint leaks at any parts store or try to check ur fan and make sure theres nothing blockin form lettin air runn through!!! and also ur ambient temp sensor that measure the outside air if thats not workin then ur a/c wont work

A/C Evap Temp Sensor

I had the same problem and I found out it was a sensor called the A/C evap temp sensor. If the evaporator is moist the ac is tricked into thinking it's co;d and it won't turn on.

Copy and paste this page and it will show you the part. When you take yours out. (not as bad as it seems) you'll see the end is probably moist. These are known to give MB drivers problems. This and the dam brake light switch cause a chit load of other problems. Brake light switch will cause the BAS/ASR light to come on and to lose your Cruise. Check the A/C evap sensor tho 99% chance that is the culprit
