2000 C280 Sport Bose problem
hi, I have a 2000 C280 sport with the Bose sound system. Recently, I started to hear rattling and static from the back speaker. Did I blow one out? How can I get this fixed? Will I have to replace these bose with some aftermarket speakers? Where is a good place to go? Can I find the OEM speakers still if one blew out?

2) Depends on what the problem is, try removing the speaker from the housing, check connections etc to determine what the problem is.
3) You can buy one original speaker, much better than replacing all the speakers (since you cannot put one different speaker in).
4) If needed, just replace the one.
5) Junkyard or dealer or bose directly.
6) Yes.
This is often the rather common problem where the Bose amp is going bad. Faulty capacitors if I remember right. You can have it repaired but you might just want to start over and invest in something new.

If you go aftermarket: I've got JL Audio VR components running off a JL Audio A4300 amp. The clarity is great and they will make your ears ring. Their amps and subs are top shelf too.
Ok, so apparently the rear right door speaker blew out. What is the best speaker I can replace it with? Circuit city had these Polk speakers for about $99 for the pair, will that be better than the Bose?
