Intermittent Heater fault C200 (W202) It's cold for Xmas !!

Has anyone got any clue as to why my heater sometimes works (Generally not). I've got the model with the digital climate control. Should I buy a heater system from Ebay and replace or could it be a sensor or the resistor pack ?? Any ideas would be most helpful
