my experience
got an error cade for my MAF...bought a cheap one off eBay because seller implied it was a Bosch part...it wasn't of course! Hooked it up and error code stopped coming on but the car ran like crap! Stalling...surging. Ended up putting my old one back on. My research at the time indicated it was important to unhook battery before replacing. AND that there would be a learning curve for the ECU over a few days as it readjusted everything to the readings of the new MAF. Not sure if I buy the few days for the ecu to readjust or not. Just passing on the info I uncovered. Let us know how you do with your new MAF and where you purchased if you would please. Thanks!

I would definitely disconnect the battery to reset the adaption values. It can/will shift odd at times if you don't. Don't forget to rsync your windows and sunroof plus have your security code for the radio handy.
