Frozen parking brake cable.
i just bought a 2000 C230 Kompressor. i was having problems with the parking brake. when i tore into the parking brake assembly, parking brake splitter mechanism, and parking brake adjusting 'star', i have come to find out the parking brake cable is completely frozen. it is like a muscle man tug of war to move the cable a few millimeters.
has anyone ever replaced a cable from the pedal to the splitter assembly? if so, where can i buy the parts? or is this a job for the dealership?
i have searched this forum for answers to no avail.
any input would be greatly appreciated.
