CD Changer (MP3 enabled) for C230 Kompressor
I own 2000 C230 Kompressor sport special edition... I don't have CD changer...

I am exploring the possibility of adding a cd changer which can play mp3 also...

Any body had installed any brand other than that ones from Merc.

too poor now
well on my friends 98 C230 we instaleld a mp3 player on it. and it works kinda. but he did not have optical line so i duno abuot urs :/

I burn MP3s onto CD's and it plays fine on my MB OEM CD changer. I have a 1999 C 230K. I dunno if the burner converted my MP3 format to wav files so that it can be played or not...

Ok _ I don't need mp3 compatibility...( I can burn my regular CDs.)

What is the cost of 6 CD changer for my cost ( I am getting a price qoute from crutchfield for US$625 )

Is there any cheaper versions ?

Don't buy from Crutchfield. You should be able to get a non fiber optic OEM MB CD changer from Ebay for much less than their price (around 250-300). The OEM MB changers are nice because it's pretty much plug and play. The wiring is already present in your car. You just need to buy the brackets to house the changer in your trunk.

You can also ask Steve (MbenzNL) to see if he can get you one cheaper. His email is: s_krabbenborg@hotmail.com and he's from the Netherlands. He basically can get any OEM MB parts at cheaper prices than what you can here in the states. He's very trustworthy and reliable. Just ask around in any MB car forum.
