I took a 1,815 mile round trip in my C280 starting from Texas (with lots of stops in between) ending up in Mississippi and all the way back to Texas a year ago.. and I still drive it daily since then with no problems... this car is amazing!!

I took a 226 miles round trip when I first got my C280. It was fine driving it on the highway. I had the worst back ache when I got out because the seats are small and not too comfortable. It rides nice on the highway.

I have a 2000 C280 sport. For a while i was driving about 300-500 miles a day for work. It was quick and very comfortable, the only thing that would hurt after a few hours was my butt, and sometimes my foot.

My son and I made a cross country trip from Chesapeake, Virginia to West Hollywood, California in his C43 last July. We drove 3,218 miles in five days; we had a total average of 22.62 mpg driving 10-15 over the speed limit most of the time. We did have a burst or two up to 140 on I-70 through Kansas and lots of passing on two lanes in Utah and Arizona.

We were both pleasantly shocked at how comfortable the car is. We drove at least 8 hours per day with the longest being about 12 hours from Denver over Loveland Pass, down through Moab and on to Williams, Arizona (lots of detours for photos). Neither of us experienced any fatigue whatsoever, simply amazing. I own two other W202 C-Class', a 1995 C280 and a 2000 C280 Sport. There is really no comparison between those (admittedly very nice) cars and the C43. The AMG package really transforms the car with great power (even at altitudes over 11,000 feet), handling that truly inspires confidence at any speed and superb comfort. That said, we have made several 14 hour trips to Miami in the 1995 and several 8 hour trips to New York in the 2000. All are very comfortable, quiet and competent on the road. The C43 just raises the C-Class game to another level.

I drove a good friend's 2000 C230 from Los Angeles to Lubbock, Texas, keeping speed above 90, and often just below the 135 limiter. 27-28 mpg on 91 octane E10 garbage in Ca, 29-34 on non-ethanol 92.

indeeed. the comfort is amazing in such a small car compared to other cars in it's class. and the power is nice and quick when jumping from 65 to 80 to make a pass on a big 18-wheeler. and some here had back issues but not me. my trip felt like I never left my La-Z-Boy at home.
