How to install hood star on a 2002 c320

A 2002 model is probably a 203, but in any case.
On the underside of the hood there will be the assembly for the hood star. I believe it comes out by going up through the hood, and the new one is fitted by going in.
I have never actually done this, but on my cars it looks like a simple procedure.

Not sure on the later model 202s but the pre-2000 stars worked by spring loaded release .
From under the hood using needle nose pliers, spread the pliers outward into the 2 side tabs, and turn the tabs to the right. This releases the entire unit and it pulls out of the top of the hood. Use brut strength to turn that cam..
If the cam is frozen in position, blast it with lots of PB Blaster or rust inhibiter to free the mechanism..
Once it took 2 of us, each pulling while turning the pliers to release the cam...
Use the longest needle nose pliers that you can find.. Makes the job easier..
