My son just purchased a 97 C280 that has the AMG package installed on it. Is there such a package for this car? Cannot find info on this anywhere. The wheels seem way to big for this. When backing up and turning it feels like you are going over rocks. I checked the wheel wells and don't see any rub marks. any explanation? Please help!

 

There is no such thing as a C280 AMG. The only C Class AMG's are the C36 and C43. Are they AMG Wheels? How big are they? 18"?. Does it have an AMG Body kit on it? My guess is that someone just put wheels, a kit, and springs on it to lower it. If you are worried about the harshness of the ride you can go back to factory springs. The body kit is pretty much on there for good unless you get a body shop to remove it. Try to climb underneith the car and tell us what kind of suspension springs are on it. The factory wheel size is a 15 by 7 inch. Let us know more about the car.

 

if u consider the side skirt, air dam, rear apron, and 17 wheels an amg package...what do u have on the car? maybe the previous owner simply put on some cosmetic stuff from amg.

17x7.5 rims with 225-45-17 in the front have been known to rub on stock c280 in full lock

 

97 only come in 15inch amg wheels
205/60/15
