Engine Shakes

I can feel my engine shaking mildly after I did an engine support / engine mount change. It's not violent and doesn't seem to affect my RPM when on idle mode. Had the car lifted and I can really see the engine moving sideways gently. Car is now at 96,000 miles

The shaking isn't violent at all but you can feel it when your inside the car. Any idea what could this be? Started shaking after a hard rain with some rain puddle. Thanks in advance.

I'll try to check on that one. Also just an additional detail, last night I tried to rev my car while at still and I observe the muffler sound (I was at the rear bumper, my GF was the one revving the car at the moment) and notice that when she let's go of the pedal at probably 2000 or more RPM when it's about to descend, the muffler seemed to choke or misfire. It's like it cough then continue on smooth. Any idea if this is connected?

How do you knw if the chain needs replacement and if it's going bad? Thanks.

I don't know. I bought the part and had it installed to the where I usually go to fix my car. They are an independent Mercedes specialist shop.

I think I am having the same issue. My engine shakes slightly and I can feel it in the car in my seat and steering wheel. My local independent shop said it is the motor mounts. No CE lights or codes just vibration.

I have a 99C280 Sport and when I first bought the car it had a mild engine shake/vibration that was only noticable when in the car and sitting at a light. It did this for some year and a half until I changed the plug wires and cleaned the coils. Now sitting in gear or out of gear you can't tell the motor is running it's so smooth. All it takes is one bad or going bad wire. Don't go looking for problems, sure enough they'll show up !!!

I'll try cleaning the plugs like what you mentioned on my car service. Hopefully that would fix the shaking. I'll keep you guys posted.

Hi, I'm thinking you have water in the electrics.

My 98 C280 also has the shakes at idle.

I've had the plugs replaced, but it still shakes.

Would replacing the wires be next in line? How do you clean the coils?
