Built in Phone.
Last year (May) i bought a 99 c230k...with integrated phone. Is there any way i could self-program the phone... or maybe a GSM (german car, german phone network maybe?) slot that i could somehow get the phone to work?
I was just wondering since i am trying to buy a new phone, and thought maybe i could get one to match.
* I do not want to get any of the V60 kits or so, i would just like to program the benz to my phone... not the other way around.

Since your car is 1999 MY, it probably has an ANALOG phone. Therefore, you will likely have extreme difficulty in getting this phone activated (if it's not already). If it's already activated, just go to your provider and ask them to provide a mobile phone as a second line.
Trying to use the phones included in a 1999 car here in California is pretty near impossible. It was easier for me to install a Nokia phone into the car and integrate this into COMAND.
(This was for my C43.)

Scorchie - I live in New Jersey.... one of the most different states than cali.
Alright, can we delve into this some more?
The car was originally off of a lease (... ended without the buyout and i bought the car from dealership.... ) The car originally had a cell phone number and was literally a 3000+ pound cell phone.
Once the lease ended.... poof... everything went back to normal.
My overall question is, what type of a cell phone is my car? (that sounds like an odd enough question.)
I would much rather buy cell-service for my car, than buy a 2500 adapter....
Let me point this out again.... I would rather make my car fit a cell phone than buy a cell phone to match my car.
Any help - Much Appreciated.
