Go on ebay and buy the radio removal tools for mercedes. take out your head unit and look for the mercedes serial number. write it down and call the official mercedes service rep and confirm you are the owner of the car and explain to him your situation. when he verifies you are the owner, just give him the serial number of the radio and he will give you the 5 digit security code so it can work again.
hope this helps
btw dealer shouldnt charge you for removing the radio, its a 1 min process and a phonecall.

Radio code
I only last week, had a battery failure. When the service car mechanic replaced the battery with a new one, he asked for the radio code. I found it with all of my records on the car. The code was attached to the key at time of delivery of the car. It was very simple to fix (in 30 seconds) once you know the code number. My car is a 1999 MB C280. Find your code that came with the car. Good luck.
