Recharging the AC - 98 C280
My AC isn't always blowing as cold as it should... I'd like to make sure that it's fully charged - so I bought an R134a can of freon with a guage from my local wal-mart for $20... Is this OK to use? If not, please explain.
1.) Is the place to recharge the AC near the drivers side wheel well, with the black cap near the top of the engine? I think that's the low pressure valve, but want to make sure.

high pressure service valve is in front of condenser, low pressure service valve is on low pressure line between evaporator and compressor.

You got it right. It's in the driver side. The connector from the R134a only fits on the low pressure side, won't fit the high pressure connector. You can't go wrong with that. When my C280 was completely out of R134, I charged the system w/ 2 cans (13 + 18 oz)
