the LEDS run on the same wire connected to the bulb holders of turn signals? I dont want to do anything more then unscrewing my old bulb and screwing on new one

also, since there is "amber" LED front turn signals. does that mean they look "amber" as well? I'm going for the clear look, but want it to blink amber, so I am legal on the road and stuff.
Also that minitransformer thing, is that a seperate item you purchase along with the LEDS? I'm looking at that right now and it says you have to splice some wires and stuff...
The wire that you splice in makes it blink normally. TP does have a point about the reflector though. It flashes straight forward instead of all around.
All the ML owners on Benzworld seem to be really hip on them, so somehow I think that their requirements for their cars are a little different than everyone else's on MBworld and Benzworld. Hmm.

The osram and phillips silver vision bulbs are single filament.. what exactly does that mean? I read somewhere because of singlefilament turn signal bulbs, you lose the parking light feature. what the heck is that anyway? :P
With the single filament bulbs, you have a couple problems.
1) the pins don't line up... or maybe they do, I forget. It depends on the car. Some Mercedes use PY21W for the indicators, others use 1157NA. I've even run into one (my G500) that uses an 1156NA for the indicator... weird. The difference between the P-series bulbs and the 115x series bulbs is the way the pins are aligned (not to mention an extra dollar a pair for the European style).
So how can one fix the pin issue? The correct way is to fit the correct sockets for the bulbs you want to use. On the M-class, this is simple, because the socket plugs into the harness and you just use the right socket. On the C-class, I forget how it works. The other way to fix it is to grind one of the offending pins off the light. Bad thing about this is you have to make sure you do the right pin or it might not fit in properly.
2) if you do use a single filament bulb, you lose your amber corners. This is because in Europe, most of the cars use a "city light". You can fit this city light into your headlight. This will only bring your car into partial compliance though with US DOT requirements. Your front amber side marker will still be missing. If you've switched to clear corners, you're already breaking the law by removing the front amber reflector, so you should have no qualms about going further. Just be aware that you may get a ticket, or if you have inspections in your state, you may not pass.
