Mercedes Benz C230 T Kompressor
Headlights go down upon acceleration
Hello all.
First of all, thank you very much for all the help, I have received just by reading this forum :-)
I own a MB C230 T Kompressor from 1997, 385.000 Km on the dial.
I have had my share of problems with the engine, however they have been solved now.
The only problem, I actually have right now is, that the headlights are lowering, when I accelerate the car. If I let go of the pedal, the lights go up again to normal position.
I reckon that it is a problem with the vaccuum..
One vaccuum hose was broken, and this has been repaired. When that was broken, the lights just went down and stayed there.
Could anyone help me as to where to look for any leaks. There are no hissing noises on the inside of the car (e.g. from under the dashboard, as there was when the hose in enginecompartment was broke..)
I am about to sell the car, but any help would be appreciated, as I'd like to sell a working car :-)

The problem won't be a vacuum leak, it will be a non-functioning check valve in the system. I would just go to a auto parts store and buy a small check valve and put it on the vacuum line from the manifold. problem solved.

And that's it? Will this new check valve then take over the function of the non-functioning check valve? .. Sounds too easy to me :-)
I will try this later today.
