My C280 started to make a clanking sound as if I threw a rod. *whew* not the case. BUT, the fan clutch mount($125), which has bearings in it went out instead. It lead to a loud clanking noise which prevented me from going faster than 20mph. Also my Serpentine belt($35) was dry rotted and about to give out. in addition, my tech said an "accuator" was gone too ($29). so I told him to fix it all. I'm about to go get it after lunch. so today's bill for the benz was $382+tax. not bad... $189 for parts and $193 for labor.

I can live with that.
