it varies on every car. I got eibach springs that claim to lower 1.3 but after install my car looks stock height. I also now have 1 pads but still a fairly big gap. So yes you gotta lower first then decide pads.

After 2 years of saying you wanted to lower your car, you finally got springs. Congratulations. Be sure to post pics. of your car. Are you going to replace that Renntech sticker with an Eibach one? My car has #3 pads and sits right on top of the tire. If I had a #2 pad I would rub like crazy.

Oh, yeah. From what I have heard, here is the order of what springs lower the most. From least to greatest: H&R, Eibach, Carlsson, Intrax. I don't know about Brabus or Vogtland (sp?). This is just through my personal experience when I was trying to buy my springs. I imagine a #2 pad on your car would be good to start out at. Did you ever get your wheels? I still don't know why you would want to get rid of your old ones. Anyways, let us know how it goes.

Anyone want to know how the lowering went?
i went to the dealership and set everything up to install the aftermarket shocks and springs and they gave me bull**** tellin me that they never told me they would install aftermarket parts when they did. The manager came in and told me that he knew that numerous employees of the dealership, including service advisors, parts department, and service department (mechanics) and even managers told me they would install the aftermarket parts. Then they wouldnt give me a rental car before they told me they wouldnt do it when they gave me a rental twice before, and they were being *****s about the whole thing. I told them (including the general manager) that i was going to put in a complaint to Mercedes-Benz about the dealership (due to the fact that the last time i had my car serviced they sratched the back bumper and neglected to tell me about it so i would have to pay for it and when i showed them they admitted to it and said they would fix it for free and gave me a $200 service credit). When i told them that i was going to complain to Mercedes about the dealership the general manager wished me good luck, he said "do u actually think they are gunna believe your story over ours?" i said they better because your lying and he said " i know but they wont believe you" and stuff like that. Anyways i made another appointment to get my car lowered on thursday march 20th at a performance store so i'll keep you all posted.

wow i'd just take my business to another dealership if the general manager talked to me like that. I would have gone a step further and threatened to file a compliant to teh better business burreu in your state. the application can be printed out online and if they are found guilty they can be fined and depending on how many other complaints that are similar a class action law suit can be slapped against them. its a serious matter cause better business records are public and can really hurt the reptutation of a business.
i would file one right now and make a copy of it. send it to the gm with <8

I was just out with my father(manager of a Toyota Dealership) and his friend(Manager of a Infiniti Dealership), and I just told them what happened to you and what the Dealership said. They both agreed filing a complaint to Mercedes-Benz really wouldn't do anything unless you had some hardcore evidence like a tape of them or something in writing. Your best bet would be to file a complaint with the better business burreu in your state. Maybe take a picture of the scratch to. To show proof of some sort that they did in fact scratch the car.
