I know you guys are gonna think I'm crazy or dumb for asking this question but, when it comes to lighting I tend to get silly. I stumbled upon this website and was wondering if it's possible. Do you think it's possible to make illuminated door handles like this guy did to his 88' bmw?

the illuminated door sills i thought were too much, but it turns out they looked pretty good and fairly classy. the illuminated door handles is a bit way out there imho.

Since I'm not allowed to make fun of people who think they have Honda Civics anymore.....here it goes.
Yes I'm sure it's possible, seeing as how BMW and Mercedes have very similar door handles. All you need to do is find a lead wire that you can tap into. My favorite is the wire that goes to the cigarette lighter. It's not constantly used so it works pretty well, and it turns off when your engine turns off, so you won't drain your battery. Just run the wire over to the door by going under the console and through the rubber flex tube that all the other wires pass through. Then just drill the hole and install the light. You can also get a device at Radio Shack that would make it light up with the ambiance of your stereo. Then you can call it the Disco Benzo!

I have been thinking about illuminated interior doorhandels myself as well...but since it was too much hassle to retrofit the W210 E-class illumination strips in there (it is either OEM or nothing at all), I figured it wasn't worth the hassle...
