Hey guys, I don't have an owners manual and just bought the car. Does anyone know the exact oil capicty with filter change?

you have m104 engine in your car, and with those engines you should fill between min and middle of the min-max of the dipstick, because m104 is very prone to leaks and mercedes had advised to lower the filling capacity by 0.5 liters, so don't fill close to max on dipstick. i think the manual says 7L, buy i usually put about 6.5 and that's close to the middle of min-max. so after you drain the old oil, add 6 litres, then start the car, shut off, wait 2-3 min to check again and add another 1/3-1/2 liter to bring it between min-middle of min-max of dipstick.

 

M104 in the 96 C280 is 7.4 Quarts with a new filter.
