Rear Flexible Joint Disc
just want to share my experience....your C Class has a wierd sound ? its sound like "cling..cling.." from under the rear seat , and it comes when you just move from neutral to 1st gear...it may because of your Rear Flexible Joint Disc has tear or worn just like mine.(see the picture).
I just change it for USD 37,5 for part and USD 10 for services , and the sound now disappear......what a relief....

Now that's one messed up flex disc. How long was it before you had it changed? I've never seen something as messed up as the one you have. I had mine changed with just few cracks on the rubber but nothing as bad as the one you had.

I had replaced one on a W202 car with about 200k miles on it. It was coming apart so much that it was beating against the bolts and had worn about half-way through 2 of them. These things are definitely something that people should check out if they are doing alot of their own work..
