2000 C280 Help
Hey guys, Im looking at purchasing a 2000 C280 with 87k on the Odometer. Totally clean carfax, with all general maintenance listed (was a certified MB car back in the day). In general how is this model year? I heard the newer w202's were excellent but just wanted to see what people thought of them on here. Im pretty excited as it is "special edition" with 2 toned LEATHER (not mb-tex)Harmon Kardon audio, and headlight wipers
.
Still miss my previous c280......RIP

i think 99-00 mods are the best looking 202s, last of its model. i have a 99 c280 and it runs great but... be careful. less then a month on mine and the tranny went out =(. was at 170kmiles. all of a sudden going home from work (bang) it went out with no signs of wear. 2K to fix. if you do buy it, do a full service on the tranny, heard on here its a reg thing for w202s. hope this helps

I've had my 2000 C280 Sport for 4 years now. The car currently has 160,000Km's on it. All in all the car has been fantastic.
In four years I have done the following repairs:
- All four suspension springs replaced due two of them being fractured
- Secondary Air pump replaced because it was throwing codes
The only other thing I need to get fixed is a few blown bulbs in the instrument cluster (fairly common).
As well, if you do decide to go with the C280 start using synthetic oil (if it isn't already).
I wish I was able to get one of those limited edition two tone interiors.
