After market chips

Has anyone had any experience or recommendations on after market chips for C280. I noticed an ad for SLRmotorsport chips that sound just a little too good to be true.

Thank for any input.

Cosworth is a british tuning company that designed the engine for the 190E 2.3-16 smartass. Maybe you should google it and learn a little of what made Mercedes what it is today. But owning 2 cars that beat the E30 M3 in the DTM races, both owing/creating 2 of maybe the 3 boosted Cossie 190s in the country and both being highly modified with years of custom work, I must be an idiot. Chips for a C280 is not worth it, barely does ****, and is just a rip-off.

That's curious. Is this different from our SMT C36 ECUs? Even if it does have an IC style fuel map, why is this, cams too mild? Or is ignition advance very limited mechanically or what?

The same era 3-series (my daily driver) are very similar to the M104 except those were a slant6 and the VANOS (especially after chipping) made a very rev-happy engine that likes to live above 3.5K. Vers a long stroking Mercedes engine, or at least thats the impression I seem to be getting. Of course this doesn't apply to your Cossie, which is pretty much like any modern or otherwise M3.

So anyways, the chip for my e36 was very noticeable. 15 horse is an underestimation. The reputable tuner claims 22HP and on a 189HP stock motor, it is very noticeable.

BMW's are popular to mod, thus the ability to get a chip worth buying for not an empty wallet. But a 202... its either ebay **** that wont do a damn thing or droppin some money on one that youll see a small gain from. Better off just buying "look good" parts
