Oil filter cap - leaking gasket

Leak from oil filter cap
The last three times that oil has been changed (three different people, 2 places, and myself) I guess I've just bought the wrong filter with includes the wrong O-Ring for the filter cap, but it's been leaking every single time. FRUSTRATING! It leaks down the front, goes along the plastic cover down below, and then flows onto my exhaust causing a nasty oil burning smell.
Anyone experience that before? Anyone know where to buy a good O-Ring that won't leak?
Additionally, how tight should the filter cap be? A half twist beyond contact?
Thanks in advance,
-Rick

2000 C230 Kompressor
Per the Bently service manual, tightening specs are 25 Nm or 18 ft-lb.
You might want to take the cap off and do a close inspection under magnification. You might have a hairline crack in the cap that opens up when it's tightened down. Or double check the filters you've been getting with the dealer.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info on torque.
Haven't looked for a hairline crack yet.
Additionally - I've been using aftermarket (locally bought) filters, with gaskets. That may also be the problems.
Thanks for the tips!
