This is weird. I got an exterior lamp failure indicator on the dashboard.

So I checked to see what the problem was. My passenger side low beam wouldn't light up when I switched it on. But when I locked the car, it turned on and stayed on for 30 seconds (It's just something my car does). So if it lights up then but not when I actually turn the lights on myself, what the hell is going on?

I don't think it's the bulb, but what could the problem be?

There are two sets of bulbs in your headlights; low beams, and fog lights. The ones that turn on for 30 seconds are the fog lights, aka courtesy lights. Your low beam bulbs are basically dead, and need to be replaced, or there is some wiring problem.

Did you resolve the issue with your lights? I have the same issue with one of my 96 w202's.
