Got my OEM Avantgarde grill today...
Direct from Germany...
Notice the Mercedes Insig next to the 210 888 serial... OEM!
Professional cut to fit W202. No jagged broken off edges. smoooooth.
More pics to come... its too dark outside for me to install it

1) go to dealer, buy screw ... $1 or less
2) go to hardware store, buy screw ... 20 cents or less, but you'll have to take an original to match it, which raises the possibility of losing another
3) magnetic pick up tool in the carter cover (plastic thing under the engine), also check in the bumper
Good luck.

lol
funny how we start talking about shoes on this board
they are kenneth cole reactions, made in italy
I think the screw fell out of the bottom area of my engine bay.
anyway I was able to install it this morning no problems. Hardest part was prolly getting the grill inside the chrome assembly frame... Takes ALOT of finesse, as scorchie said on his installation guide.
Anyway less boring stuff aside, heres what the final result looks like...
Heres what my car looked like before...

no way benzstructure
narci got his from dealership when insurance covered it and it was around 500. scorchie got his from mbz in germany for 400 shipped. i wasnt going to pay that much, so I did some hard searching and i found a contact there that brings em here for 265 shipped. also despite what some say. the front part is actually black/black. not grey. only the inner side is dark grey. I forgot who brought this up, but it was mentioned awhile back in previous threads
doug you lucky dog you :o

So Rincewind...who's this contact of yours? Do you mind if you share some of this info, cuz I've been looking for a "OEM" AvanteGard grille as well for cheaper.

1994 C280
the most important that for the original Mercedes parts VS other companies is the quality. the original one is PERFECTLY fit but the others...
U may try. ;(
i fixed my C280 with that grill. at first i've tried the "cheaper" one, well... the "bones" of the grill are not really that fit and U need to do so much work to fix it. so i went back to the shop and ask for the original parts. it's quite expensive. it costs around US$200!!? but it's really GOOD!!! U may think about it!!
