what kind of bulbs in instrument panel? my 1994 c180?
When driving at night only the left and right sides of the panel are lit up it is dark from the center out, only 20% of each side of the panel is lit. And none of the digital display (temp/km/time) is visible.
So I am going to replace the bulbs.
So can anyone tell me what kind of bulbs are used so I can get them bought tomorrow before I start taking the car apart?
Thanks.

Dealer item. I've never seen the dash bulbs in a parts store. The two main illuminators are bulbs only, 2 watts I believe, the rest are 1.5 or 1.2 watts and the bases are integral to the bulb.

Try this site. They seem fine. http://www.autoanything.com/Parts/Pa...ts-63-815-2000
This site has pictures of a guy replacing his bulbs with LEDs, but it's still a good resource on how to remove the display cluster: http://mymbonline.com/forum/viewtopi...ee8a32e2e48237
A few words of warning: be really careful when you take out the cluster. There are two ribbon-type cables that must be disconnected, one at a time, before the thing will come out. There is one on each side. If you mess one of those up, you're finished. If you're careful and release them (there's a lever thing that pulls up behind the connector) then it's difficult to damage them. If you've never done this before, read the second link I gave you very carefully.
Also, the cluster is just held in via friction. So when you put it back, you may never get it as perfectly snug as it was, but you'll never notice. It will take a bit of force to get it out, but just pull it out. Also, don't forget to extend the steering wheel as much as possible. Finally, before you do any of this, turn your key to the second position so that all the display lights turn on, this way you can figure out if all the warning lights are good or need replacement.
Hope I didn't frighten you. It's not a tough job, it just takes a lot of carefulness. Take your time and you'll be fine.
