Strange Radio Issues after rain/car wash
Ok, this may sound strange but here goes....
After a rain storm or car wash, when I turn on the car radio, the speakers make a horrible popping sound. Then the popping stops and there is a loud buzz. Then the buzz stops and turns into a very high pitch sound. Finally, the high pitch sound goes away and the radio begins to play.
I'm wondering if this has to do with water in the engine compartment that comes through a clogged drain area. The process of getting the radio working again take 10min, but the noises are audible from inside my house!
Any ideas??

Doing a quick search in the W203 section (your model fuzzlefty) I found the following

It seems there is a potential issue with water getting to the amplifier due to a clogged drain hole and corroding connections.

I can tell you for a fact that the car is leaking around the amp. My C43 amp caught fire last year and had I not been real lucky it would have burnt to the ground. I still can't confirm where the water is coming from, but it is a real pia.
